Whole Body Vibration Benefit – Exercise and Your Relaxation

Summer is the perfect time of year to relax and enjoy the sunshine, warm summer nights, fresh ocean breezes, and fragrant gardens bursting with flowers and home-grown produce.

Relaxation is an important part of self-care and a healthy lifestyle. Did you know that stress is a contributing factor in 3 out of every 4 doctor visits?

Exercise is an important part of an overall healthy and stress-reduced lifestyle. But how does exercise contribute to these benefits? Exercise helps in two important ways – it boosts the “feel good” neurotransmitters (like endorphins) and it reduces the levels of stress hormones (like cortisol). Think of exercise as a “movement meditation” for focusing your mind in the moment, as well as soaking up stress hormones and creating feel-good endorphins! And at Pure Vibe, we can help you meet these goals in as little as 20-minute sessions!

Some other healthy relaxation activities to enjoy on Relaxation Day include:

Get a massage, and if you’re on a budget, don’t forget about the excellent RMT student clinics, where you can get a massage for reduced fees.

Go for a walk. The fresh air and sunshine will boost your mood, reduce stress hormones, and help you sleep!

Sip on green tea. Recent studies show those who drink green tea have reduced symptons from stress and many improved health benefits.

Nibble on dark chocolate. Even just 1 square of dark chocolate helps regulate cortisol levels.

Breathe deeply, preferably outside! Deep breathing slows your heart rate, and helps calm your mind. Breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth ten times for a quick relaxation break! Deep breathing in nature has the added benefits of enjoying nature’s fragrance and sunshine.
