Spring Training Get your Core in Shape with Whole Body Vibration (WBV)

Core strength is vitally important for overall health and wellbeing. A strong set of core muscles contributes to greater health of your internal organs, as well as flexibility, and ease of movement. Your core muscle groups support and protect your spine, internal organs, and posture, and are made up of your external obliques, transverse abdominis, internal obliques, and rectus abdominis.

Recent studies by physicians and physical therapists at the Pravara Institute of Medical College show that whole body vibration (WBV) is an excellent way to build and improve core strength in a relatively short period of time. Published in February 2017, their study involved sedentary young women, aged 18-25. One group of women received whole body vibration training, and the second control group did not. Over a 4 week period the women who received whole body vibration training for 10 minutes, six times a week, showed significant improvement in core strength using Kraus Weber Muscular Strength Tests.

WBV is already recognized as an excellent way to increase strength, balance, flexibility, cardio, circulation and bone density safely, and without stressing the joints and muscles in the process. WBV is able to achieve these results via the use of vibrating plates and gravity.
